Domestic & General Announces Winners in CI(H) Retailer Awards 2005
January 2005
Domestic & General, the UK’s largest specialist provider of breakdown protection for domestic appliances, electronic equipment and gas central heating systems, has announced the winners of the CI(H) Retailer awards 2005. Reigate-based RDO Kitchen Appliances has walked away with the first prize, with Thanet-based Coastal Electrics, and Wellingtons of Erith taking second and third place respectively. The prizes were presented at a special presentation ceremony in London on 27th January 2005.
The CI(H) Retailer of the Year awards, sponsored and administered by Domestic & General, recognise excellence in retail service for CI(H) (Combined Independent Holdings) members. Now in their 6th year, the awards are the result of an annual survey of over 150,000 customers of CI(H) retailers, who rate their experience during the sales process on issues such as staff friendliness, responsiveness and quality of service. The independent survey is one of the largest of its kind, and is increasingly recognised as a unique indicator of customer experience standards amongst independent electrical retailers.
All customers that contribute to the survey are entered into a free prize draw, which results in a consistently high response rate. The results offer a fascinating insight into the customer’s experience of dealing with CI(H) retailers network, with scores aggregated to provide a final overall rating out of a potential top 20 points. This year, RDO Kitchen Appliances gained a winning satisfaction rating of 18.76 out of 20, compared to an overall average of 17.04.
”We would like to congratulate RDO, and indeed all the winners of this year’s award,” said Derek Hollingdale, sales director of Domestic & General. “The customer is the true judge of excellence in sales service, and each of these companies’ own customers have demonstrated their good service really is welcomed and recognised. The high standard of results across the board demonstrate that all CI(H) members are providing high quality service to their customers, and that customers are really valuing the CI(H) Retail experience. Congratulations to everyone!”
"It's a pleasure to see customers giving their confirmation of the high levels of service that CI(H) retailers offer,” observed CI(H) chief executive Stuart Cook. “It's also reassuring that, in a market that is rapidly changing, customers value so highly the service our guys are delivering."
