New kitchen appliance plan from Domestic & General
April 2004
Domestic & General, the UK’s largest specialist provider of breakdown cover for domestic electrical appliances, has launched KitchenPlan, a competitive new plan for all major kitchen appliances.
Up to nine appliances can be covered for just £13.99 per month and so long as each appliance is in working order, protection is immediate. In most cases the company will settle the bills directly with the repairer and the cost is the same regardless of where the house is located or the number of people in the family. The appliance list is flexible - two ovens or washing machines can be protected for example - and new products can be added to the plan as the homeowner replaces the originals over time.
All appliances must be under eight years of age at the start of the plan but the protection can then be renewed for the viable life of the appliances.
Domestic & General operates a 24/7 customer support line and repairs are carried out either by the manufacturer’s service network or Domestic & General’s own independent approved and monitored repair networks. Customers wishing to take out the plan can do so on standard rate telephone line 0870 606 1339.
Graham Dunning, campaign strategy manager, says: “Many customers are asking for plans that can cover more than one appliance, and we understand that organising cover for up to nine different appliances can be a hassle so with KitchenPlan we hope that we can save the customer both time and money.”
