Inkfish Slough takes calls for Children in Need 2005

22 October 2005

Nearly 100 people volunteered to take donation calls at Inkfish's call centre in Slough on Friday 18 November to help with the BBC's Children in Need appeal. Working in shifts, the teams manned 40 phone lines from 6.30pm to midnight and took 2,813 donations from callers in the Thames Valley area who donated £105,000.

Pudsey Bear joined the volunteers who consisted of Inkfish Slough staff and friends, as well as teams from their Group's Wimbledon office and their call centre in Brighton.

The staff at Slough also held a raffle with a range of prizes, including DVD players, chocolates, wine and a TV donated by local businesses. Local takeaway businesses and supermarkets donated food to keep the volunteers going throughout the evening. Inkfish was delighted with the amount raised and were glad to be involved in what seems set to be a record-breaking year, with £17,235,256 raised so far overall.
