About the job:

Working as part of the Web team within the Marketing department, the Web Designer's role will be to create HTML/CSS designs from concept to final realization under approval of the Senior Web Designer. They will also develop the existing sites, enhancing their design and information architecture.

The Web Designer will be responsible for the design and creation of HTML/CSS websites and email campaigns for Domestic & General Group Ltd and its clients


Tasks:
  • to develop and maintain Domestic & General Group Ltd websites, the Intranet and clients' websites (including registration and non UK sites)
  • work under supervision of the Senior Web Designer
  • to enhance the design and information architecture of the Domestic & General Group Ltd websites, the Intranet and clients' sites
  • to design, test, implement and send email campaigns for Domestic & General Group Ltd and its clients
  • to make sure that the designs are usable and accessible
  • user testing of designs and websites
  • work closely with Application Support and Websphere Development in managing website builds and deployments
  • Update content on company website, client websites and the Intranet.

Experience Needed:
  • Sound work experience in web design (HTML,CSS)
  • Web Graphic Design (Expert)
  • Expert knowledge of Information Architecture, Usability techniques and Accessibility
  • Experience creating wireframe designs as well as Photoshop and HTML/CSS designs
  • Ability to see projects through from concept to completion
  • Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, HTML (able to hand code), CSS
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work to procedures and deadlines
  • Good communication skills and an ability to work with a range of people across the company
  • Strong all-round I.T skills
