About the job:

To work closely with key business stakeholders to convert initiatives, ideas and requirements into logical, practical and functional project proposals. Also to understand the strategic direction of those stakeholders, thereby contributing to the ongoing development of the D&G IT roadmap.

To undertake business analysis and facilitate the delivery of business benefit through the development of effective IT solutions, working with internal developers, ASP or 3rd party providers as appropriate.


Tasks:

Business Account Management:

To be the first point of contact for business sponsors to discuss ideas, requirements and opportunities.

  • To help business sponsors develop and progress business cases, identifying and validating business benefit to be put forward for the governance process.
  • Guide the business in the best practice options with SAP and other applications using knowledge and understanding of the systems implemented within D&G.
  • To assist the business with their benefits realisation plan and measurement of the benefits post implementation.
  • To provide the Sales function with IT support when liaising with new or prospective clients.
  • To proactively grow and strengthen business and IT relationships.
  • To develop business knowledge and expertise.

Actively participate in continuous business improvement programs entailing changes to processes and functions.


Business Analysis:

To prepare the business case:

  • Define the outline requirements and benefits.
  • Identify and evaluate potential solution options (incl. external suppliers)
  • Provide outline solution estimates and costs.
  • Produce a high level project plan.
  • Analyse and specify the detailed business requirements.
  • Provide detailed estimates, timeframes and costs for the proposed solution.
  • Manage the business requirements through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Undertake end to end business change impact assessments covering IT/business processes/organisation design.

Testing:
To work closely with the Test Analysts, providing input to test planning and support during testing.

Delivery:
To work closely with the Project Manager to deliver the project according to the time, cost and quality parameters that have been set and according to the project standards.

The key focus for the IT department over the coming months is the implementation of SAP. Personal development for the entire Business Analysis team, will be focused on developing an appropriate level of D&G SAP familiarisation. This will also include understanding and embracing the changes to the way that IT will work, for example, developing relationships with the ASP, working with a new release management process etc.

Adhoc tasks, investigations etc are expected of the Business Analysts as and when required, within both aspects of their role
