Introduction: We have a rare opportunity for an experienced creative artworker to join a busy in-house team of 6 designers. The role involves working across POS leaflets, press, direct mail, leaflet production as well as a variety of internal communications material. The role is extremely varied with no 2 days being the same. You will be multi talented and ideally have some experience in print production. Your portfolio must demonstrate a variety of projects and you must have excellent indesign, illustrator, photoshop and quark Xpress skills on apple mac.

Job Purpose: To produce Quality & Innovative Artwork for the Domestic & General Group Limited and its clients.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties and Responsibilities
    • To take ownership of creative briefs, and where required produce documentation to support your thought process through to conceptual artwork.
    • To communicate with the rest of the team and manager on any design issues and priority work.
    • Working towards specific deadlines.
    • To assist the team on a daily basis with our busy and varied workload.
    • To assist the Marketing and Sales teams with presenting design concepts both internally and to our clients.

Qualifications/Experience:

Qualifications

  • Competent in Quark Xpress, Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Technical Competencies:

Creativity and innovation -

  • Can generate new ideas and improves upon tried and tested methods.
  • Has an insight into market trends.
  • Has the ability to produce workable designs which keep the needs of the user in mind.
  • Shows developing knowledge of modern design techniques.

Desirable criteria:

  • Competent in Quark Xpress, Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software on apple mac.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in producing design in a professional environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of repro/print.
  • Basic understanding of costs and effectiveness of various design approaches. Ability to work alone and also as part of a team.
